Identification of Current Pain Points in the Indian Society

CanConnect has surveyed several sections of the society in the past to identify the vulnerable sections and the pain points they face. The study identified women from the lower income group, drivers, inmates of orphanages, inmates at nursing homes in rural and semi-rural areas as well as domestic help as those sections with minimum or no access to advanced medical screening centres. The results of the study were as follows:
  1. Women from low-income group
    Mininum or no access to advanced medical screening tests and unaffordable cost of treatment
  2. Driver Community
    High usage of tobacco, high exposure to pollution leading to an increased risk of lung and oral cancer.
  3. Orphanages
    Minimum access to advanced medical screening tests and increased risk of genetic birth disorders as well as metabolic disorders.
  4. Nursing homes in rural and semi-rural areas
    Minimum or no access to advanced medical screening tests leading to increased risk of genetic birth disorders and metabolic disorders.
  5. Household Servants
    Minimum or no access to advanced medical screening tests leading to increased risk of metabolic disorders and cancer.

The CanConnect 5-Prong Program

In order to mitigate the spread of fatal ailments, CanConnect has adopted a five-step program. The program is aimed at containing the spread of diseases, which are plaguing the Indian society.

Monitoring of health following treatment to ensure minimal chances of re-lapse or recurrence and suggest changes in lifestyle and dietary patterns.
Being exposed to the radiations , Radiographers are a high risk segment as far as Cancer is concerned.
CanConnect organised a camp at Shikshan Mandal in Pune for the Complete Blood Count (CBC) testing of their women staff and to make them aware of the importance of periodical testing.
CanConnect held a screening camp at Swadhar to expand avenues of of agency funding to Community Social Workers.
In order to spread awareness about Genetic Testing and its importance, an educational initiative was held at Jnana Prabhodini for nursing students.
CanConnect organised a drive for the employees of Lijjat Papad to test them for general health parameters through blood testing.
